This work brings together two photographic sources: images from my travels to untouched
locations around the world and images of the ordinary spaces of my daily life. I draw
from an archive of photographs from places like Antarctica, South Africa, and Iceland,
locations where I’m more inclined to pick up a camera. In contrast, I rarely document the
routines and objects at home, even though they shape my day-to-day experiences. This project is a way to examine both impulses.

I digitally place elements from home into these larger landscapes, allowing domestic
objects to occupy spaces where they don’t belong, but still visually settle into the scene. I
am interested in how attention shifts when more casual scenes appear inside far-off and
extraordinary environments. The work reflects on what I notice, overlook, and how
photography can bring both into a shared frame.
