This project used public space as a tool to challenge assumptions and create a moment of reflection. We intervened Robert Indiana's iconic LOVE sculpture on Penn's campus, adding a "Trumps Hate" sign to shift its meaning for people passing by.
We wanted the piece to be interactive, so we brought in music and a whiteboard for people to answer the question: What does love mean to you? Their responses became part of the work itself.
The timing mattered, stress was high during exams, layered on a moment of tragedy in the wider world. Against that backdrop, the piece was an insistence that hope and love still have power and deserve space in public life.
